Still on standby after all these years
Engineer Rescuers 2016, an international military exercise dealing with emergency responses to flooding dangers, rescue work and evacuation contingencies, took place on the Březina training grounds in Vyškov region, South Moravia.
Pictured is a Soviet tracked amphibious PTS-10 transport vehicle. Used by the Czechoslovak Army from 1968, the PTS’s propulsion in water is achieved with twin propellers while its top road speed is 42 km/h. There is room to back a vehicle into its rear.
