Stirring scenes from Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan and Mali feature in the presentation, on show until 29 September in the Northern Arcades of Prague Castle’s Old Royal Palace. The theme of That Other Life is the thought that a country which does not appreciate its war veterans does not value its very self.
“I think that it is important to keep showing people everything that is involved in our work, the work of a professional soldier, and not merely the foreign mission itself. A good photograph is worth a thousand words,” said one of the exhibitors, Sergeant First Class Daniel Hlaváč. Among those who have contributed some of the 46 photographs are also Lieutenant Colonel Jana Zechmeistrová, Master Sergeant Miroslav Lopatář and photojournalists Lenka Klicperová and Jarmila Štuková. .
